Mini Pig Veterinarians Map
Trying to find a vet that will see pigs has been one of the biggest challenges for most people. This map was created using the list from the main pig vet page, but updated with current address and phone numbers. Again, not all have been called to verify that they see pigs, BUT, now it should be easier to find a vet close to you using the map feature. An example, if someone told me they needed a vet in the northern section of Florida, I'm not familiar with that area, now I can zoom in to the top section of Florida and present options that way versus sending 24 screen shots full of vets in Florida. Please let us know if you know of a vet that isn't listed or one that is listed that no longer sees pigs. The vets were compiled over the last several years in multiple groups and forums by hundreds of people listing them as vets that have seen or do see pigs. If you need to contact us to update this list or for any other reason, email us at [email protected].
FYI** We do not know that each vet on this list is a pig specialist, matter of fact, I would venture to say most are NOT. But this list was compiled to provide people with vets that are willing to see pigs. There is a BIG difference in someone willing to see a pig versus someone being extremely knowledgeable about pigs. As we get additional names of vets and more information about them, we may be able to get a preferred provider list together with vets who are specialists in pig world, but at this time, managing a list of this size is quite difficult and has taken months to confirm and add to the map one by one. Since vets leave practices and/or retire, there may be a confirmed veterinary practice from this year that no longer sees pigs, it is impossible to reach out to each clinic monthly to verify there have been no changes in staff that either prevent them or allow them to see pigs, so as we become aware, we are adding to and/or removing veterinarian practices from the list. It will always be an ongoing project, but we have a solid foundation to build upon now.
